History

The idea behind Biopharm Nutraceuticals was developed when its founder, Rafael Olartecoechea recognized the need to protect consumer health in the highly unregulated nutritional supplement industry. As a professional pharmaceutical representative for more than 12 years, Olartecoechea witnessed the protective benefits of guidelines, provider education, testing, research, and regulation of prescription drugs. He also witnessed the all too often tragic results of consumers risking their health and, in some cases their lives by taking products like Phen fen or supplements with unknown origins.

Olartecoechea recognized that consumer risk was growing fast as the popularity of over the counter supplements, herbs, remedies, and vitamins grew to more than a 26 billion dollar a year industry. His concern for consumers, passion for industry safety, and his vast experience in the highly regulated field of pharmaceuticals put him in a unique position to work toward making a difference.

He began researching and reviewing every credible medical study he could find on the risks and benefits of common ingredients found in many name brands and over the counter supplements. With this knowledge, Olartecoechea founded Biopharm Nutraceuticals dedicated to consumer health and safety and produced its signature product Vimulti. His desire to continue to educate consumers and push for industry standards and reform continues and defines his corporate mission and standards.
